Sorimmara Annandale Information

Tucked into a busy stretch of Annandale, Sorimmara Annandale is the kind of place you might miss if you’re not looking closely, but once you step inside, it’s hard to forget. The space has a casual, no-frills vibe, with the comforting hum of conversation and the unmistakable aroma of simmering broths filling the air. It feels like a spot locals return to again and again, not for flashy décor but for deeply satisfying food.

The menu leans heavily into Korean comfort dishes, with a particular focus on bubbling hot pots and stews that arrive at the table still actively cooking. One of the standout experiences here is watching your dish come alive, whether it’s a spicy seafood stew or a rich, pork-based broth layered with vegetables and tofu. The flavors are bold but balanced, and you can tell the kitchen isn’t cutting corners. Ingredients taste fresh, and portions are generous enough to share, though you might not want to.

During a recent visit, the signature bubbling dishes really stood out. The broth had that slow-cooked depth that’s hard to fake, and each bite carried a mix of spice, umami, and just enough heat to keep things interesting without overwhelming the palate. The side dishes, or banchan, rotated slightly but included the usual staples like kimchi and pickled vegetables, all of which were well-prepared and thoughtfully seasoned. It’s the kind of spread that makes the meal feel complete even before the main dish arrives.

Service at Sorimmara Annandale tends to be efficient and straightforward. The staff knows the menu well and is quick to help if you’re unsure what to order, especially if it’s your first time exploring Korean cuisine. Don’t expect a long, drawn-out dining experience; instead, it’s more about getting your food hot and fresh and letting you enjoy it at your own pace.

The location itself is part of what makes this place special. Annandale has long been known as a hub for Korean food in Northern Virginia, and this restaurant fits right into that reputation. Reviews from regulars often highlight consistency and authenticity, and after spending some time here, it’s easy to see why. While it may not have the polish of trendier spots, the focus on flavor and tradition makes it stand out in a meaningful way.

What People's Say About Place

The food was very large in portion plus they serve it with a mini heater/stove to keep it warm, making the experience amazing! The staff was also very friendly. Will definitely be back here.

Sooo good for the amount of food that you get! Reasonable prices and all dependent on how much food you’d like to eat but exactly what I needed for a cold day will definitely come again! Got the Malatang base soup and the Rosé dry base

Very good and quick service. You can get a large variety of food for a very reasonable price, and the drinks are also delicious. Would recommend the Mala Xiang Guo dry pot, spice level is adjustable too!

This is the go-to place for me and my friends whenever we crave mala! I come here at least… 7 times a year lol I was in a hurry to chow down the cream shrimp kuobarou, but order it as an appetizer and get malatang/xiang guo. (I personally love getting xiang guo…) Sauce bar is also nice where you can make the sauce to your own liking. I’ll keep coming back for more

This restaurant is amazing it never disappoints, it’s always so delish and amazing. This restaurant is kind of self serving, you have to go and choose your own protein and veggies yourself, also with the sauce that you have to make it too. There are five styles of base, dry or soup, depending on what you want. We get the first one on the menu, which is soup and choose only level 1 spicy since I want to enjoy with my broth. My boyfriend got the rosé one with level 2, medium spicy. Both of our dishes were so good, my soup was perfect level of spicy, I can enjoy the broth with other stuffs that I choose in my plate. My boyfriend rosé also delicious too! If you like creamy texture I would recommend you to try with this sauce, medium spicy is enough for us. I truly hope more people can come here and try this place it’s amazing and never disappoints.

The service and atmosphere were both great but the tteokbokki I ordered was a bit too creamy for my taste. Good portion size for the price. I would like to come back in the future but try some other noodle dish (or build my own).

Great variety of ingredients, produce is fresh. Be careful with how much you get per person, a little goes a long way. Also be aware that above lv.3 of spicy you don’t really taste anything besides spice. Soup is slightly less spicy because of the volume. If you are getting the dry base I would go a level below your regular preference.

Sorimmara absolutely hit the spot. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were bold, and the portions were no joke—I walked out full and completely satisfied. I loved being able to customize everything, from the spice level to the mix of meats, veggies, and noodles. The broth was rich without being overwhelming, and the staff kept things moving smoothly even during the rush. If you’re craving a hearty, flavorful mala experience that actually fills you up, this place delivers every time.
